THE STATE FLAG OF THE REPUBLIC OF KARAKALPALKSTAN
The Law "On the State Flag of the Republic of
Karakalpakstan" was adopted on December 14, 1992 at the 11th session of
the Supreme Council of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
The national flag of the Republic of
Karakalpakstan is a symbol of the state sovereignty of the Republic of
Karakalpakstan.
The national flag of the Republic of
Karakalpakstan is a rectangular panel consisting of three horizontal stripes of
blue, yellow and green. The yellow stripe is separated by white and red
borders.
The blue color of the flag is a symbol of water
and spring. Yellow color indicates that most of Karakalpakstan consists of
deserts. Green color is a sign of renewal of nature, spirituality, trust and
the sun. The crescent is the sacred embodiment of Muslims, the image of five
stars is a symbol of life and trust of the five most ancient cities of
Karakalpakstan. The national flag of the Republic of Karakalpakstan represents
the Republic of Karakalpakstan in the international arena: during visits of
official delegations of the Republic of Karakalpakstan to foreign countries, in
international organizations, at conferences, world exhibitions, and at sports
competitions.
The national flag of the Republic of
Karakalpakstan is equal to the flags of other countries in the international
arena.
Citizens of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, as
well as other residents living here, must respect the State flag of the
Republic of Karakalpakstan.
